Who are you listening to?

Content

It all starts with God’s voice. Literally our world as we know it was formed because our God speaks and there is life in His voice. Before man was man, man was a word that was breathed in the lips of our Creator.

So how do we engage our Creator in a way to hear His voice? Very intimidating huh, so let’s keep it simple and remember that there’s no magic formula to hear His voice. Why? Because God wants to speak to us. No begging or pleading necessary. You are qualified to hear His voice because Jesus qualified you; so don’t hide from Him, hide in Him.

Like turning on your Spotify favorite playlist, getting ready to hear the voice of God sometimes takes some prep work. He’s not always in the fire or the earthquake. Many times His voice is a still small whisper and in our lives we need to stop and heat HIS voice.

Let’s get practical. When is the last time you tried to hear God? Honestly, we can hear God every single time we open the Bible. God is always speaking through His word. It really helps when we stop the other noises in our lives. So get alone, no phone, no distractions and maybe put on some worship music to set the atmosphere and ready your heart.

Praise JESUS for who He is and what He’s done. Pray, but let your words be few. Then, listen in your Spirit or take a scripture and meditate on it and wait. The waiting is where it gets hard because most of us don’t like silence, but do your best to push through the awkwardness.

When God speaks to our hearts it is AMAZING!  Satan will try to bring confusion. So always filter what God is speaking to you through a few simple questions so the enemy doesn’t rob you. Does it line up with God’s word? Does it bring God glory? If the answer is yes, you can trust that it’s God speaking and not you or anyone else.
