Spend some time with GOD

Content

What are things you know are important in your life, but actually doing them is where we struggle? Sleeping well, eating healthy, working out, going to small groups; It’s no different when it comes to spending time with God. We all know that it’s important, helps us grow, and be more life Christ, but how do we do it?

PRIORITY: In the Bible, Jesus, spend a lot of time alone with God. It wasn’t always at the same time of the day, the same location, or the same amount of time. Jesus knew how it important it was to put His Father first. Jesus made it the priority to spend time with God. Even it it’s 5 minutes a day, do it every day faithfully!

LOCATION: In Luke 5:16, the Bible shows us one thing that Jesus did to meet with God and that was getting away. Jesus would leave the group he was with or place so that He cold have alone time with God. Alone time should not be a problem right now, because we spend most time in our rooms alone. Alone time is hard when there’s so many things fighting for our attention. Try waking up before anyone else at home, going to your bedroom a few minutes  before  you go to sleep, turn off your phone, iPad, or Tv so you can focus on God and have an uninterrupted alone time with HIM.

PLAN: Cool thing about GOD, he doesn’t require us to spend time with Him in any specific way. WE get to have a personal and unique relationship with God. Check this out: The goal of spending time with God is to have a Relationship with Him. Part of you time with God should include prayer. Matt 6:9-13. Other things we can do is sing songs of praise and worship Him. Turn on youtube channel and listen to a worship band. Turn on Spotify or Apple Music and worship Him with your voice. Lastly, spend time reading the Bible. The Bible is a great way to learn about God and a way HE can communicate to us.
